Matt Presser is an Assistant Professor of Information Engineering Technology at New Mexico State University where he develops and teaches curriculum in digital forensics, information security and systems administration. He is also president of Essential Systems Consulting, a provider of Information Security and Technology Consulting services. He has taught and attended numerous courses and participated in hundreds of investigations in support of law enforcement, corporate and private clients. Matt also serves as an instructor in support of the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Diplomatic Security Anti-Terrorism Assistance program (ATA-Cyber) teaching computer forensics and information security courses to foreign law enforcement personnel throughout the world.
From 2006 to 2014, Matt was the Enterprise Systems Security Administrator for New Mexico State University where he built NMSU’s Information Security program. Prior to that he served as both a Windows Systems Administrator and as a Unix Systems Administrator. He holds an M.B.A with a Business Computer Systems concentration as well as various certifications. Matt is currently a member of IACIS, CDFS, HTCC, InfraGard, and is a member of the SANS advisory board list.
